Cover and Materials
In this series of images, the wear and damages of the book are most apparent. The spine is cracked and the book does not open with ease. During observation, the book was handled with great care using book cradles and never forcing the book open beyond what it easily could withstand. The book was bound with leather and had patterns pressed into it. It is unclear whether or not this binding was a choice of a patron as the facsimilies made of this book vary greatly in their reproductions.
