TheĀ Adventures of Hajji Baba of IspahanĀ is a popular nineteenth century Oriental novel that follows the adventures of Hajji Babba through the Middle East. A satirical and often hostile stereotype of Persia, the novel reaffirmed for many Brittish subjects their cultural and moral superiority over Middle Eastern cultures and was published at a time when the British were heavily involved in Persia.
